A full and fast Mill Beck. flowing down through the village of Buttermere on it's way to the lake. A perfect Autumn day in the UK Lake District. Buttermere – the lake by the dairy pastures – is 1.24 miles (2 km) long, 620 yards (570 m) wide and 75 feet (23 m) deep.
A 6 mile circular walk around Buttermere is one of the most popular hikes in The Lake District.
